Improved plastic life cycle

Plastic packaging and disposables are indispensable. They keep food fresh during transport and protect against external influences. Plastic cups and containers are a safe alternative to glass and play a crucial role in ensuring food safety and preventing food waste. Plastic is light, safe and versatile, offering many benefits for consumers and industry. But we must be aware of the impact on the world around us. That is why we continuously innovate to keep as much packaging and disposables as possible in the economy and out of the environment.

Waste management

Plastic is a recyclable and valuable resource for the circular economy. However, there is room for improvement when it comes to the management of plastic at the end of its life. Our rEVENT recycling system for PET cups is a good example of such improvement. By improving the recycling of plastic cups, but also packaging and reusing the raw material, we extend the lifespan of plastic and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

Effective use of plastics

We design and sell packaging solutions with a strong focus on sustainability, such as plastic mono-packaging that is fully recyclable. Thanks to our innovative EcoFit technology, we make packaging increasingly thinner and lighter, without sacrificing functionality. In addition, our focus is on the transition to more reusable packaging, also in new materials. During the development phase, we take designs for next use into account.

Sustainable Alternatives

In addition to plastic, the Bordex Group is working hard on new materials, such as Moulded Cellulose packaging and biodegradable top seal films. Materials that are fully recyclable, biodegradable and produced without chemical additives. This way, we actively contribute to the EU target of producing at least 15% less plastic packaging waste by 2040 than in 2018.

Benefits for the Environment and Economy

Our measures ensure more effective use of plastics and promote the transition to a circular economy. This not only provides environmental but also economic benefits. By improving the recycling process, we reduce costs and waste. We aim to play a leading role in the transition to a circular economy, where packaging has a longer lifespan and dependence on fossil fuels decreases.
